GIS integration to our Vitals software its not supported (actual process). Although it can be done by GIS technicians using the available tools in Microsoft Access. The vitals database is in fact an access database. Vitals changes the .mdb file extension to .vcd.
Our controllers have Vitals Mobile installed on them and when you collect data you have to transfer it to Vitals Desktop on a PC. Vitals Desktop is where the main database (.vcd or .mdb) is stored.
Most of our customers use Microsoft Access to open the Vitals database and from there they link the data to their GIS system by using the various tools in Access. The Vitals database (.vcd file) is actually an Access database (.mdb). The vitals software simply changes the extension of the database.
Once you open the database with Access you will be able to see the data in spreadsheet format.
You can reference the following article for exporting valve records from an excel file to the access database. Typically, you would first export your valve records to an excel file to modify the fields to match the vitals database, then copy them over.
