Symptom: After connecting HC-100 to computer it appears it’s installing the drivers but it fails. Or does not attempt to install drivers and computer does not recognize HC-100.
Possible Causes:
- Windows Mobile Device Center related:
- WMDC is not installed on PC
- Install from Microsoft website if it did not get installed with Vitals Software.
- WMDC did not install properly
- Uninstall/remove Windows Mobile Device Center via control panel.
- Install Windows Mobile Device Center from the Microsoft website.
- Error message: “Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client”
- WMDC is not compatible with Outlook 64-bit.
- Uninstall Outlook 64-bit and install Outlook 32-bit and then try to install WMDC again.
- WMDC is not compatible with Outlook 64-bit.
- WMDC is not installed on PC
- ActiveSync related:
- Settings not configured correctly
- Lunch the ActiveSync app from HC-100 Controllerà Click Menuà Click Connections… à Make sure the “Synchronize all PCs using this connection:” check box is checked and that ‘USB Default is selected from the drop down menu.

- Computer needs access to internet in order to install drivers.
- Firewall related:
- Make sure your firewall is not blocking your device from accessing or downloading drivers.
